About Us
Silver Grove Farm is a historical homestead located in Franklin Township – Warren County, Ohio. The farm was established in 1810 and has earned a very proud history. The first home was built on the property by one of three pioneering families that settled into the area. They called the home “The Gables” because of the beautifully gabled roof.
At one time, the home was a “Gentleman’s Inn”, providing a rest stop for weary travelers along the Cincinnati-Dayton Post Road. The farm also has a history as a working dairy farm. The little stone house by the big red barn was used to store milk cans before they were loaded on the wagons to go to market.
In 2006, that little stone dairy house was refurbished, painted a cheerful hyacinth blue, and given a new life. Instead of milk cans, soap boilers were installed. Outside the windows, horses replaced dairy cows. It is a place with history, peace, and tranquility.
Today, we have modernized much of the soap making process. We honor the farm's heritage by crafting the soap by hand....using carefully chosen, quality ingredients. Our glycerin soap bases are made from Vegan approved plant materials, and we carefully choose our fragrances and colors to customize your orders. We are continuing the tradition begun so long ago.
Thank you for shopping at the Silver Grove Soap Company and sharing in the history of Silver Grove Farm.
